Farm Tours and Field Trips
Cane Creek Farm is proud to offer learning experiences for adults and children alike. We host Farm Tours and Field Trips for up to fifty participants at one time. The experience will provide a hands-on learning opportunity that supports the Georgia Performance Standards, standards all public schools must meet. A guided tour will include visits to the chicken coop and greenhouse, watching cows and sheep roam in their pastures, walking beside fields of vegetables and through the fruit orchard, picking fragrant herbs in the herb garden, and enjoying a wide variety of flowers blooming. As participants tour they learn how many things work on a sustainable farm, including: how grass-fed animals roam freely in the pasture, where chickens lay their eggs, how food scraps make compost, what happens in a bee hive, how shitake mushrooms grow on logs, and how to plant seeds and grow vegetables.
Farm Tours are offered Mondays and Thursdays in the spring and fall from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. A minimum of 15 are required to book a tour or field trip. Groups are welcome to eat a picnic lunch in and around the barn as they relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The cost per participant is $5.00.
